Suman malagkit

Dahil pa rin talaga sa pagiging matakaw at kahiligang kumain ako ay gumawa ng naman ng suman pero ito ay sumang malagkit. Simple lang ang mga kailangan at ginawa ko lang ang aking sumang malagkit na parang gumawa ng tipikal na biko na hindi lalagyan ng asukal. Ang mga sahog ay : 2 tasang bigas na malagkit, 1 tasang tubig ( pambabad ), 1 tasang  gata ng niyog, asin. Ibabad ang bigas na malagkit sa tubig ng isang oras, patilain, lagyan ng asin at ibuhos ang gata ng niyog at haluin. Ibalot sa dahon ng saging. Ilagay ang mga naibalot sa isang malaking kaldero at buhusan ng tubig hanggang matakpan ang mga suman ng naibalot na lulutuin. Pakuluan ng isa't-kalahating oras sa katamtamang init. Tingnan at buksan ang isang balot kung ang bigas ay tama na ang pagkaluto. Palamigin.

Ito ay aking isinerve nung kame ay merong bisita. Pinoy na pinoy ang aming dessert. Masarap ang aking naging suman na malagkit at kinain ko ito kahit na walang matamis o asukal. Malinamnam at lasang-lasa ang hinalo kong gata ng niyog at ito naman ay nagustuhan nila :)

Suman sa lihiya

Minsan di masama ang mag-eksperimento. Dahil sa pagka miss ko sa mga pagkaing nabibili sa palengke ay napilitan akong gumawa ng sarili kong pagkain na kinababaliwan ( baliw daw ) na katulad ng "suman" ito ay hindi shinorkut na "super woman" hehehe ang tawag talaga dito ay suman. Ito ay gawa sa kaning malagkit. Marami itong klase pero sa kadahilanan na ako ay naghahanap ng recipe ng suman ako ay nalaglag sa paggawa ng suman sa lihiya. At dahil ako ay matakaw na nanay, abay! ito ay aking sinubukan lutuin sa bahay! Unang hakbang : Maghanda ng 2 dalawang tasang tubig, 1 1/2 tasang Bigas na malagkit, dahon ng saging ( kainin ang saging kung me kasamang saging hehehe ) panali, isang kutsaritang lihiya ( lye water ang tubig na sinungaling hehehe ) - kapag wala kayo nito ang suman ay hindi kukunat at ito din ay nakakapagpadagdag sa kulay. Paano ang paggawa? alors, ibabad ang bigas na malagkit sa tubig ng ilang oras, pagkatapos ito ay tilain, ihalo ang isang kutsaritang lihiya at pagkatapos ito ay balutin sa dahon ng saging depende sa laki na ninanais ( isang kutsara ang aking ginawang pantakal ). Ito ay aking inisteam ng 45 minuto sa aking dependable na bamboo steamer. At dahil ito ay unang pagsubok sa paggawa ng suman sa lihiya abay, akoy napagod kakabalot at kakatali kaya ang sinubukan ko lang na gawin at ibalot sa dahon ng saging ay iilan lang kaya ito ang naging ending ng aking eksperimento :)
1. Una, inilagay ko sa maliliit na lalagyan at niluto sa gitnang posisyon ng steamer.

2. Pangalawa, inilagay ko sa malaking bilog na lalagyanan at ipinosisyon sa pinakaibabaw ng steamer.

3. Pangatlo, ang ibinalot sa dahon ng saging mula sa aking mega effort na inilagay sa unang istiman.

Tsibugan time : Hindi ko ito ipinakain sa aking unica hija dahil aking napag alaman na ang ginamit kong lye water na binili mula sa isang filipinong tindahan dito sa paris ay expired na hellloooo nakalagay sa bote 2010 pero ito ay tinakpan ng maliit na papel na label at sa katotohanan lang ang totoong petsa ay january 2006. Ako ay nawindang dahil baka kame ay ma food poison dahil lng sa kagustuhang kumain ng suman. Naalala ko itong isang bote kong lye water ay huling ginamit ng ako ay gumawa ng pichi-pichi. 

Aral : Siguraduhing hindi pa expired ang anumang produkto na gagamitin lalo na sa pagkain. Maging maingat!

at ang huli, wag nang bumili sa hindi pinagkakatiwalaang tindaan na walang alam kundi manloko ng kapwa basta lang kumita. Ako naman ay hindi nagagalit. Basta ang masasabi ko lang masarap ang suman ko sa lihiya bow! :)

My mission

I haven't completed yet my mission. It is not a big mission but a small mission hehehe :). The story was, my sister-in-law asked me if only i will get a chance to buy and find the same hand and nail cream for her in the market or in any beauty store then she will be glad to have one or two. I took a photo to make sure that i would get the same. I already checked in the internet where i could find this hand cream but it wasn't available here but only in uk. I get also intrigued by this product because i tested it when she asked me to give it a try. I also like it for my personal use. It was a gift to her by a friend and the tube she has will runs out soon. She likes it because it is not greasy when applying and the odor is just light ( love coco ) unlike the other cream that has rich in texture with a strong odor. No chance but to ask one in the family in uk to get one for us :)

And ohh there's a good thing, there are also products for hair. I would also love to have one for my hair. It will gonna be on my list :)

Learning and using chopsticks

When we were in the asians restaurant, Bibingclara always facinated by chopsticks. I used to remind her that it was not a toy and be careful because it can hurt her by picking her eyes accidentally or maybe she would have "salubsob" - yun bang me maliit na kahoy na pedeng pumasok sa skin ay naku ang sakit!

Hubby made a short video while he happily observed how "matiyaga" his daughter was. So funny! Bibingclara was so contented when she catches well her rice noodles! Ammmm :)

Pho soup

When its chilly cold weather, we go for a soup. Looking for a comfort food with a mixture of rice noodles the answer is always pho soup. I found out a recipe from the internet when hubby requesting me to do it at home. At first, he's thinking like doing this soup will spending the rest of my time in the kitchen but no, it's just a matter of preparation. Ang dali at ang bilis lang! When i have all the ingredients ready in the fridge nothing else more but to boiled a big batch of water for this yummy soup :)

i made this entry short, i boiled about 5 liters of water throwing a piece of whole onion, small carrots, small ginger, 2 beef cubes, and 5 chinese spices

preparing chilis, sliced onions, barbeque sauce, bean sprouts, lemon, basil and thinly slices beef ( sometimes i add beef balls ) cooked rice noodles ( cooking instructions on the package )

Drained the noodles, put in each bowls, pour in the super hot boiled soup and make yourself a topping of each and everything. Hmmm... my pho soup version always turned out good but of course would love to try a real pho soup when we'll be in vietnam :)

3-cheeses tart / Tarte aux 3 fromages

I make tart once a week because it is a family favorite. I make leek tart, tart with ham, or even without any vegetable or meat filling. Just like the tart i have made few days ago, full with lots of cheeses :)

When making pastry dough click here for the recipe. Cook the pastry dought in the oven for 15 minutes at 175 °C.

                  for the mixture you'll need 100g of grated comté, emmental and edam

                                                                   4 eggs, 25 cl. cream

In a glass bowl, beat the eggs, add the cream, add cheeses. Mix well, salt and pepper ( according to taste ) and a heaping spoon of flour. Mix thoroughly using a fork.

When the pastry dough is done, add the mixture. Place in the oven and let it cook for another 30 minutes or until done ( you can check it inserting a toothpick if nothing sticks on it then the tart is completely cook )

I let my cheese tart rest more in the oven for another 5 minutes and look it was nicely brown on top

Family dinner at home

Napakadalang when we have family visitor sa bahay. And usually kapag me bisita it is always on the family side of Claudebiko the last time was last year month of november. Ang pamangkin ni hubby who spent holiday in france who came home and had dinner with us :)

Of course, i am promoting filipino dishes ( naks! ) and let them taste my home cooked meals. Last monday, we also had visitor, Claudbiko's cousin and his wife. They're also from france but they spent little days in Paris. We had a wonderful dinner together with mega chika. I haven't had the chance to take photos because i was busy in the kitchen but promise! ang food presentation ko ay winner! so here's the menu:

Aperitif - Porto, Boy bawang spicy and garlic flavor ( hahaha we called it mais soufflé here mala popcorn and dating ) bagel pretzel, chips and fried sausages with lemongrass ( pika-pika / amuse gueule )

Entree - Lumpiang shanghai ( i served it with bed of crispy lettuce and mint leaves on the side mega nem ang dating )

Main course - Adobong manok, Steamed rice ( na nilagyan ko pa talaga ng pandan leaves ), Boiled pechay and Okra on the sides

Dessert - Suman malagkit, Mini cassava cake and Mini square cheesecake

What a big mistake not to share the chocolates that they had offered to us while we're having a cup of tea after our good meal ( i forgot ) so the next day, i feasted the forgotten chocolates with a cup of coffee :)

They're so many choices so i have to get my pick and read the chart wondering if i can figure out a chocolate with liquor filling! Ahhhh chocoholicssss :)

Month of love is not over yet. On the 14th of february i've got a red rose from my loving husband minus chocolate as he is saying masyado na akong mataba kakakain ng sweet! "loko" minarder daw ako. And because i am not really into flowers obviously wala akong flower vase sa bahay and as you can see i put my rose to an empty rhum bottle :)

Aside from the betty push cart, a red rose i have got from Claudebiko as a valentines gift, he also treated us ( his 2 lovely girls ) to our favorite pizza restaurant few days later ( para makabawi di ako nabigyan ng sweets eh )

I haven't took any photos of our food nor myself ( kasi di na ako kasya sa lens ng camera joke! ). We ordered what we usually order from this restaurant but this time because we are with Bibingclara of course, dessert will be the biggest part of her meal so we ordered 2 scoops of ice cream for her ( chocolate and strawberry ) oh how she loves their italian ice cream and for me, i had tiramisu but i just only eat a small part because my gourmande daughter almost eated everything. Hubby and i drunk almost 1 liter of white italian wine ( medyo nalasing ako ng konti at umikot ikot ang paningin ) good match to our spicy pizza and white creamy with mushroom pasta. To ended up our meal, before billing out we ordered two cups of expresso and the expresso comes up with two little chocolates on the side na si Bibingclara din ang tumira hehehe ohh la! i regret of having coffee kasi that night di ako nakatulog at i had heavy stomach pain nag rumble ang tiyan ko dahil sa ininom kung pagkadami- daming quantity ng wine. umm.. a lesson! next time i will avoid drinking too much and specially coffee at night :)

Merry go round

Time flies so fast! i have plenty of photos sitting on my computer that reminds me of my childhood. Just like those photos above. The photos are taken in the same village during our yearly vacation.

I remember that it was in bayan sa malabon where i always wanted to have a ride sa merry go round yung kaba-kabayuan ang favorite ko tuwing merong perya. Ang sarap maging bata ngunit napakabilis talaga ng panahon, dati ako ay isa ring bata ngayon ay mommy na so now ang aking dalagitang maldita na ang nag eenjoy sa merry go round. Hay, i am getting older na hehehehe :)

Mr. & Ms.

Monsieur et Madame! ang collection na kinalolokohan! Once we buy one then we get hooked to buy another one. I like the funny short story of mr. and ms. or i might say my daughter and i loved it! Yes, we both love it! infact aside from mister and miss bought from garage sale ay meron pang namana si Bibingclara from kuya léo :)

So impressive because those little books has a big contribution to Bibingclara's good memory. At the age of 10 months old ( same time when she begins to walk ) when i will ask her to get a mr. then she will always get the right one. She knows it by heart ( basing on the drawing ). Since then, i continue to purchase one mr or ms for her each week :)

And the biggest award she have got is the bag. I have offered it to her when she decided of stopping drinking my milk last october 11, 2010 ( whew good award huh ). Now, she has a nice bag good enough to accomodate her countless mr and ms little books :)

Windang na kwintas

Aside from having numerous pairs of earring, i also love collecting necklaces. It gives an instant "chic" look whenever i am wearing one of those. I actually love wearing colorful necklaces but it also depends on what clothes i am wearing. I am not fashionista but wearing necklaces as accessories also makes me more girlish :)

When we renovated our daughter room, all the stuffs and little things i have there was now evacuated that's why i thought of hanging some of my necklaces ( usually bead type ) on the post board ( previously used for posting postcards ) and put it on the wall. They're nice! when we had some friends who came along last valentine's party three of my friends asking me jokingly is it for sale? i said, pede rin! hehehe :) isinabit ko walang paglagyan eh. Ok naman it also serves na rin as decoration. What i am thinking now is where to put all my bracelets.. yun bang parang decoration na din ang dating :)

It has been a long time that i haven't bake nor eating fresh apples. I am missing apple so much!

Nilaga

This dish is a family favorite! super easy and affordable! I used to make nilaga once a week it can be beef, pork or kahit na buto-buto pa hmm... sorbang malasa! When i cook it, i just add some potatoes, carrots, one onion and a bunch of pechay :)

Extra Betty

Just been excited this morning, i went to search my betty figurine no.30 but hey, reminding that it'll be for next wednesday. Oh yeah, i forgot! i must wait! in the magazine store, i found out betty boop small notebook with a pen on it but i haven't purchase it coz i found it too expensive for 9.99 euros hellow it is not all worthy :(

When frustrations come when not having my betty on time, i tend to buy some other betty items that i can easily find in the store like the address book above that i purchased in Ile de ré souvenir shop and a pair of bedroom slipper that bought from carrefour supermarket. Well, well, well, in any color or in any shape i am very happy to have my betty boop items basta sila ay in good at affordable prices :)

A lovely gift

Last friday, what a surprise to see a lovely gift from Claudebiko. I was actually outside and planning to do food shopping that day. He was back home earlier than me so he sent me an sms saying " Mahal, can you come home straight coz something is waiting for you it is a surprise" then i think asking myself " huh, surprise? maybe i've got an official mail, an appointment waiting for my nationality application?, maybe i've got a nice package, a letter, a greeting card from family, a new phone? huh whatever!there are so many things running in my head and because of curiosity, i went hurriedly home. And when i get home, dyaraannnn.....

I never think that it was Betty boop! I was so very happy to have Betty boop cart. It is very accessible! What a good timing because i used it the same day when i do my shopping. No big effort of carrying heavy loads each time i make my buying just pushing, pushing voilà and roll and roll and roll my nice betty trolley :)

Sweet kisses

We have the same likes 'Chocolates & Kisses' remembering the first Bibingclara's gourmandise on chocolate as we have been sharing each unforgettable bites kahit wala pa syang ngipin :) ( Hubby's gift for valentines a big heart shaped chocolate from Jeff de bruges with personalized message "mahal kita" ) Oh how sweet! Silly mama, at her age chocolate isn't allowed yet! well, it's just for the sake of photo hihihi unfortunately, she gets the habitude of eating chocolate now a cause of my influence ( sweet tooth ) but luckily to say she consume or eat chocolates only in a minimal quantity :)

When there are no chocolates to be share, we would be contented kissing each other! yeah, my husband needs to admit that i've got more kisses from our daughter than him ( ikaw ba naman ang magpa breast feed for over a years for sure super close kayo ) nyay! :)

My daughter is into kisses she likes kissing even if i don't ask. When i ask her " Anak, bakit mo ako hinalikan? she will replied " Kasi mahal kita!" Wow! that's so sweet! It shows that Bibingclara is sweeter than any other chocolate so i could live without breaking any chocolate basta i would get loads of sweet kisses from my lovingly daughter. Naks! love you nak! :)
