Munggo

My munggo beans left in the jar doesn't have to wait for malunggay leaves. I cooked the simpliest ginisang munggo last time :)
                                         munggo beans
                                         ginisang munggo
cooking oil
3 cloves garlic
1 small onion
1 small tomato
1 thumb sized ginger
200g ground beef or any lean meat
1 cup munggo beans
3 cups water
salt and pepper
Boil the munggo beans in a casserole for 30 mins. when done set aside. In a pan, heat the oil, sauté garlic+onion+tomato+ginger and ground beef. When its all done add them in a casserole with cooked munggo beans and let them cook for 20 mins. Add water if necessary ( if wanting more soup ). Seasoned with salt and pepper or patis ( optional )
My ginisang munggo turns out very good even without any malunggay or ampalaya leaves. My family loves it!
                                        digitalis purpurea - purple foxglove
While walking in the street few months ago, i saw in a flower shop and discovered the name of the strange plant that has been grown beside my malunggay branch that i planted in our balcony. It's named digitalis purpurea ( they sell in a flower shop a bit expensive ) known as a toxic flower.
