I remember one day, i bought a piece of brownie in the bakery in our neighborhood. I asked, "j'ai voudrais une brownie si'l vous plaît?" ( i would like one brownie pls ) maybe it's just about my accent speaking french i mean the way i pronounced it or maybe she heard not so well and she ignored to reasked me what i want because in the end she handed me a cookie. Yes, a chocolate cookie!
i never mind, i repeated what i wanted. I want brownie half for me, and the rest? is for my daughter's goûter after school.
Cool! now i have got an idea to try baking a combination of brownie and cookie. The brookie thing i sometime saw on the american recipe book. Yeahhh la gourmandise!
Pinay and Inay who loves eating French and Kamote fries. A combination of both between the two different foodie world. Sucré ou salé? Both! Just in between.

Puff pastry : Pâte à Choux
This morning i made a cake from scratch. The cake i baked is for my nephew who's celebrating his birthday today. While writing an entry to post, i remember the puff partry ongoing post that i already forgotten since long time. I saw plenty of recipes of Puff pastry nowadays not only sugared but salted version one as well. This Puff is on my list to try. Of course, i will try doing it again but not using the ready made mixtures as you see on the photo below when i did on my first try :)
this is a mixture for the filling
and for the puff pastry
what i remember is i just added water for the mixture and milk for the filling
oven... and hop!
not so beautiful puff's
cut into halves and put a teaspoon of creme filling
voila instant puff pastry
they were like "tinapay na pinalamanan"
For the next making, i will follow the recipe of Puff's surprise from hachette. A more enticing version for the children and one with a festive look :)

Halloween cookies
Our little thoughts for Bibingclara's class --- cookies ;) my little partner in the kitchen with her best creations.
little girl at work
monster or skeleton pattern we can't make witch ang hirap!
ang taga-halo
at ang taga-tikim
we didn't perfect our design but the cookies were so yummy!
suppostedly the food color is black but we didn't had it so we used orange
not yet done --- she had made her own design for the cookie box
with the help of maman ( of course ) -box recycled from nespresso ( black is class what else? )
her pumpkin version cute ;)
done!
There are 28 childrens in the class but we put 34 pcs cookies inside kinain namin yung dalawa dapat 36 eh. Did they enjoyed the cookies? yes, im sure! next time christmas cookies naman para sa mga chikiting (",)

Cookies for the kids
A day ahead of fête de l'école - school fair/school feast, my daughter and i got so busy making cookies for her class. We made the easiest and simpliest cookies. I did the cutting and my assistant did the decorating :)
letters cookie cutter bought from 1.50 Euros store ( long-time ago sa wakas nagamit din )
yes, i made and cutted each cookies by name
the cookie decorator ( kahit pasaway hehehe )
the advantage is favor sa pinakamahabang pangalan gosh i got an error here the name is CHEMSEEDINE ( the longest name in the class ) but i arranged it wrongly by CHEmesedine naduling na ata ako hehehe :(
28 childrens - 27 in Bibingclara's class plus i made an extra dun sa kakambal na classmate ni Bibingclara na nasa kabilang class :)
It was a big work for us but i'm satisfied because the childrens enjoyed their personalized cookies. Actually, the parents still pouring their "thank you's" to me each time i cross them in school. Well, it was a pleasure, seeing childrens smile when they got their cookie is fullfilling ( it was the teacher who distributed the cookies to each child together with their card for the fair ) Before i end, there's a funny story because Bibingclara finds the sugar cookies so delicious! so at the end of the baking Bibingclara wanted to taste test each letters ( cookie ) i said " no anak, i will missed letter for each name" well, she simply said ( to convince me ) " you know mama, they're will be a lot of absent tomorrow so let me taste it" hahaha i laughed out loud oh my goodness buti nalang i have some extra's kasi yung ibang cookies ay nasunog so i re-baked some. Cookie recipe? click here :)
